Enhancing the Quality of Life
Through Recreation
In 2019 we launched a new Youth Service Learning Program, Friends of R.E.C. The program connects Kalamazoo’s youth with opportunities to lead and learn about all aspects of the parks and recreation improvement process.
Kalamazoo Friends of Recreation has extended Program Assistance eligibility to
ALL youth in the City of Kalamazoo
Additionally, program assistance awards are increased to cover up to 100% of Kzoo Parks recreation fees.

Outdoor recreation and supervised programming helps guide our children to opportunities away from their devices and where they can connect with nature, with peers and with mentors. Through our financial assistance fund, we reduce barriers to participation in recreation programs for City of Kalamazoo youth.
